Undergraduate Admission Information for 2024
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announces undergraduate full-time admission for 2024.
I. Admission Applicants: Candidates who have graduated from upper secondary school (USS).
II. Admission Methods and Majors for Admission Consideration:
Four (04) admission methods are applied:
· Method 1: Using the results of the 2024 Upper Secondary School Graduation Examination;
· Method 2: Using upper secondary school academic results of Grade 10, Grade 11, and the first semester of Grade 12;
· Method 3: Using the results of the 2024 Competency Assessment Examination of VNU-HCM;
· Method 4: Direct admission and priority direct admission under the University’s Admission Scheme.
2.1. Method 1: Using the results of the 2024 Upper Secondary School Graduation Examination according to subject combinations applicable to each major.

Admission is conducted from higher scores downward until the quota is filled. In cases where, at a certain score level, vacancies remain but the number of candidates with the same score exceeds the remaining quota, admission shall be determined based on additional criteria. |
- Candidates eligible for admission consideration in accordance with Article 5 of the Regulation on Undergraduate Admissions promulgated together with Circular No. 08/2022/TT-BGDDT dated 06 June 2022 of the Ministry of Education and Training and registering to use the results of the 2024 Upper Secondary School Graduation Examination for undergraduate admission, with no subject in the admission subject combination receiving a zero score. - Admission consideration is based on the results of the 2024 Upper Secondary School Graduation Examination according to the subject combinations applicable to each major with a minimum score of 16 points (expected). This score level applies to candidates in Area 3; priority points by area and category are calculated in accordance with current regulations. |
The University allocates approximately 60% of the quota to this admission method, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. |
Candidates with a higher Mathematics score (or Literature score for subject combination D15) will be admitted; for the two majors English Language and Chinese Language, the decisive subject is English. |
2.1. Method 2: Using upper secondary school academic results of Grade 10, Grade 11, and the first semester of Grade 12.
Admission Conditions:
(1) Graduation from upper secondary school;
(2) The average total score of the admission subject combination, corresponding to each major, for Grade 10, Grade 11, and the first semester of Grade 12 must be 20 points or higher.

2.1. Method 3: Using the results of the 2024 Competency Assessment Examination of VNU-HCM.

Admission is based on the results of the 2024 Competency Assessment Examination of VNU-HCM with the following minimum scores: 700 points or higher for the majors Food Technology, Business Administration, Information Technology, and Marketing; 650 points for the majors English Language, Chinese Language, International Business, and Accounting; and 600 points for the remaining majors. This score level applies to candidates in Area 3; priority points by area and category are calculated in accordance with current regulations. |
The University allocates approximately 5% of the quota to this admission method.

2.1. Method 4: Direct admission and priority direct admission under the University’s Admission Scheme.

- Direct admission: In accordance with the current Regulation on Undergraduate Admissions of the Ministry of Education and Training. - Priority direct admission under the University’s Admission Scheme: Applicable to candidates whose academic performance is classified as Excellent in Grade 10, Grade 11, and the first semester of Grade 12, and whose average English score for Grade 10, Grade 11, and the first semester of Grade 12 is 8.0 or higher. |
The University allocates approximately 5% of the quota to this admission method. |

Note on Conversion of English Scores:
- Candidates possessing foreign language certificates in accordance with regulations may use them to convert English scores for admission subject combinations that include English through the University’s conversion system.
- English score conversion is applicable to the following admission methods:
+ Method 1: Using the results of the 2024 Upper Secondary School Graduation Examination;
+ Method 2: Using upper secondary school academic results of Grade 10, Grade 11, and the first semester of Grade 12;
+ Method 4: Priority direct admission under the University’s Admission Scheme.
- For Method 2 and Method 4, candidates shall convert scores during the process of submitting their application dossiers to the University. For Method 1, the University will issue a separate announcement on the timeline and procedures for candidates to submit foreign language certificates to the University for English score conversion once the 2024 admission schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training is officially announced.

- Online: Register preferences on the Admission Portal of the Ministry of Education and Training after the 2024 Upper Secondary School Graduation Examination. - Candidates shall adjust their admission preferences online and directly at the receiving points in accordance with the announcement of the Ministry of Education and Training. |
- Candidates shall pay the application fee directly on the registration portal of the Ministry of Education and Training. - The University’s admission code is DCT.

- Online: Candidates register on the University’s admission portal at: https://tuyensinh.huit.edu.vn/dang-ky-xet-tuyen.html - In person: Candidates submit the dossier directly at the University or send it by post to the Admissions and Communications Center at the address provided below this announcement. |
- Candidates pay the application fee directly or online to the University. - Fee: VND 150,000 per application dossier. |

IV. Rights, Learning Opportunities, and Scholarships:
4.1. Rights:
· Students are provided with housing referrals upon request, are supported in job placement during their studies and after graduation, and are eligible to access bank loans during their study period.
· Students are entitled to benefits in accordance with applicable laws; they are supported in their studies and in participating in scientific research and technology activities, attending scientific conferences, and publishing scientific and technological works in the University’s publications.
· Students under state-sponsored admission quotas, ethnic minority students from socio-economically disadvantaged areas, social policy beneficiaries, and students from poor households are eligible for scholarships, allowances, and tuition fee exemptions or reductions.
· Students receive academic advising, counseling, and guidance in developing study plans, selecting and registering courses, learning methods, scientific research, and developing professional and soft skills.
· Students may register for courses and study schedules suitable to their personal conditions based on the University’s timetable.
· Students are allowed to pursue a second degree if eligibility requirements are met.
· The University provides a modern dormitory for newly enrolled students, equipped with facilities that meet students’ accommodation and living needs.
4.2. Learning Opportunities:
· Students are provided with a modern and professional learning environment that integrates theory with practice, with numerous opportunities for hands-on training and study at enterprises. Graduates of the University are able to obtain suitable employment after graduation.
· Students are equipped with life skills and work skills; upon graduation, they possess sufficient competence and confidence to build their future careers.
· Opportunities are available for studying abroad and for pursuing higher levels of education.
· Students have opportunities for development within mass organizations such as the Youth Union, the Communist Party, and the Student Association.
4.3. Scholarships for New Students Admitted in 2024:
· Valedictorian and Salutatorian scholarships for new students in 2024;
· Scholarships for students with the highest academic performance by major;
· Scholarships for disadvantaged students and financial support for poor students and students in difficult circumstances during the academic years;
· Merit-based scholarships for students in each semester of the academic years;
· “Support to School” financial assistance for new students in 2024;
· Tuition fee reduction for twins or siblings studying at the University;
