In the context that higher education is undergoing a strong transformation towards linking theory with practice, on the morning of January 26, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade solemnly organized the Inauguration Ceremony of the Law Practice Room, marking an important step of development in the strategy to improve the quality of training of the Law major of the University. The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere, with the participation of the University Board of Management, the leadership of the Faculty of Law, lecturers, and students of the Faculty of Law – the future owners of this highly practical learning space.

Overview of the Inauguration Ceremony of the Legal Practice Room

In his opening remarks at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan – President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade emphasized that, in the context of fundamental and comprehensive reform of higher education, legal training cannot be confined to the transmission of theoretical knowledge alone but must create conditions for students to “learn law through professional experience.” The investment in establishing the Legal Practice Room stands as clear evidence of the University’s determination to align training with the practical demands of society and the labor market.

At the ceremony, Dr. Luong Khai An – Dean of the Faculty of Law presented congratulatory flowers and shared insights into the functional use of the Legal Practice Room. Accordingly, the room is designed following a model that simulates adjudication activities and other legal practice operations, serving teaching, scientific research, and students’ skills development.

Immediately after the opening remarks, the University President and Dr. Lương Khải Ân – Dean of the Faculty of Law performed the inauguration ceremony of the

Legal Practice Room, officially putting this learning space into operation.

More than merely a place “for practice in name only” the Legal Practice Room is expected to become a center for cultivating legal thinking, advocacy skills, reasoning, and the application of law, thereby contributing to the formation of students’ professional competence from the time they are still in the classroom.

A special highlight of the program was the Mock Trial conducted directly by students of the Faculty of Law. This is a learning format that simulates adjudication activities, enabling students to directly approach procedural processes, the roles of the participants in a court session, as well as skills in legal reasoning and argumentation. Through the mock trial, students not only “understand the law” but also learn how to apply the law in a logical, rigorous, and substantively accurate manner. The students’ serious, well-prepared, and highly responsible performance left a positive impression on the lecturers and attending delegates.

A special highlight of the program was the mock trial performance directly conducted by students of the Faculty of Law.

Following the mock trial, the lecturers of the Faculty of Law and guests provided in-depth professional comments and orientation-oriented feedback, helping students improve their professional skills and assisting the Faculty in continuing to enhance the quality of organizing mock trial activities in the coming time.

At the end of the program, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Legal Practice Room took place successfully, clearly demonstrating the consistent orientation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade in innovating training methods, taking learners as the center and practice as the measure of quality. The Legal Practice Room is not only a physical facility, but also a vivid learning space where students are trained, allowed to make mistakes, grow, and gradually approach a professional legal practice environment. The ceremony concluded, but a new journey has begun – a journey that brings HUIT Law students from the lecture hall to practice, from knowledge to competence, from career aspirations to the character of law-abiding citizens in the future.
